Jermain Defoe needs to move on from Bournemouth.

It would be a big surprise if Jermain Defoe ends the January transfer window still part of Bournemouth’s squad.
The once prolific striker is wasting one of his last few seasons on the bench, making only four appearances this season, all as a substitute.
Tottenham should consider bringing back the former England international for one last hurrah.
Spurs need a credible back up for Harry Kane, with Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente both flopping.
Heung-Min Son has successfully filled in for Kane when required, but his absence for the Asian Cup next month will highlight the club’s lack of options up top.
Spurs have got away with it for this long because Kane is so good. With the reward of the Premier League title on offer, the North London side should not leave it all down to their main man.

Defoe might spend most of his time at Spurs on the bench, but he is doing that at Bournemouth now too, and he would probably get more chances than he currently is.
With the lure of Champions League football on offer too, Defoe should jump at the chance to sign for Spurs for a third time.
As an English player, and not cup tied, he would not present any problems for Tottenham’s Champions League squad.
Defoe will have other options, which may include dropping down a division for guaranteed playing time or moving abroad.
He still fits the bill for what Tottenham need as a short term option, and he can help out their title charge as they close in on Liverpool.
