Tottenham Hotspur were linked with Monaco winger Thomas Lemar in the early stage of the transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are set to make a £50 million bid for Thomas Lemar of Monaco – and Tottenham Hotspur should at least match that, to bring in one of Mauricio Pochettino’s early targets this summer.

Spurs were linked with Lemar a few months back in the Independent, but appeared to have pulled out of a deal after deeming him too expensive.

However, Arsenal are growing increasingly confident that they will be able to buy the French international this summer.

And Tottenham should at least rival their capital rivals for the talented 21-year-old.

Tottenham are yet to make a signing so far this summer, and they can ill-afford to stand still, with all their title rivals strengthening already in the transfer window.

Lemar would unquestionably be an eye catching addition for Spurs, and they now surely have the funds required to get him.

Kyle Walker’s sale to Manchester City, has put even more money into Tottenham’s back pockets.

And Spurs should at least show some ambition and rival Arsenal for Lemar, as the Monaco man could be a real difference maker for Pochettino’s side.
