Everton reportedly wanted Moussa Sissoko last summer before his move from Newcastle United to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Ross Barkley from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.
According to The Mirror, Tottenham want to sign the attacking midfielder, but Everton are demanding £50 million for the 23-year-old.
It has also been claimed that Spurs believe that the England international’s price-tag should be much closer to £15m as he has just one year left on his current contract with the Toffees.
While most would agree that Everton’s £50m valuation of Barkley is too much and that no club is going to pay that much for him, it is hard to see the Merseyside outfit letting him go for just £15m.

The situation seems to be at an impasse, but could the inclusion of Moussa Sissoko in the deal help things move along?
Sissoko joined Tottenham from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £30m.
It was reported at the time that Everton were also interested in the 27-year-old midfielder, who has scored twice in 52 appearances for the France national football team.

The Merseyside outfit were reported to have had an offer for Sissoko accepted, but they failed to agree personal terms with the midfielder.
It is clear that the former Newcastle man is not in the plans of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, having managed just eight starts in the Premier League last season.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman was (reportedly) interested in signing the Frenchman last summer, and perhaps the Dutchman could be enticed again this time.
It would not be a bad idea of Tottenham to offer £25m and Sissoko to bring in Barkley in the summer transfer window.
