Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid are open to offers for Gareth Bale. Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one of the clubs interested in the winger, who is rated at £85 million.
Bale was on the books of Tottenham from 2007 until 2013 before making the move to Spanish and European giants Madrid.
The 28-year-old Wales international winger was hugely popular among the White Hart Lane faithful, and many fans would love to see him back playing for their club.

There is no doubt that the former Southampton man is a very good player, but given his injury problems at Madrid, the fact that he has not really progressed much since leaving Spurs and and his age – not much re-sale value – should deter the North London outfit from making a move.
For £85m, Spurs could get two or maybe even three world-class wingers or attacking midfielders if they so desire.

Spending that much money on a player who has suffered injuries in recent years and not done exactly great on the pitch – well, at least not consistently enough – when he has been fit would be madness.
Of course, if Bale became available for say, £30m, then Tottenham should make a move, but they would be wise to keep the £85m that Madrid are reportedly looking for a player they do not seem to want any more.
