Real Madrid’s Mariano Diaz wants to move to Tottenham Hotspur, but Mauricio Pochettino should sign Joshua King instead.

According to a report in Marca, Tottenham Hotspur will have to pay £13 million to sign Mariano Diaz from Real Madrid this summer.

Spurs are said to be interested in signing Diaz, but at that inflated price there are far better options.

Diaz is believed to be keen on a move to North London, as he enthused to link up with Mauricio Pochettino (Diario Madridista).

However, Tottenham have far safer targets – considering the rather high asking price Madrid want for Diaz.

The 23-year-old Spaniard may look like an exciting talent, but he has only made 14 senior appearances for Madrid and has to be considered a major gamble.

Diaz is entirely unproven, and with Spurs needing to find adequate cover for Harry Kane, they should attempt to make a move for Josh King instead.

Bournemouth's Joshua King in action

King scored 16 goals in the Premier League for Bournemouth last season, and he is available for just £2 million more than Diaz.

According to the Daily Mail, the Cherries would be willing to sell King for a fee of around £15 million.

And, considering King is far more proven in England, King looks to be a far better option for Spurs than Diaz.
