Tottenham Hotspur would be smart to bring in Timo Werner with Harry Kane out injured.

Tottenham Hotspur should push on and sign Timo Werner now, after BILD reported they had been monitoring the striker.

Spurs have sent scouts to Germany to watch Werner, who Red Bull Leipzig are said to be prepared to sell for £53.8 million (BILD).

And if Tottenham are ever going to make a move for Werner then now is the perfect time.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s options up-front look perilously short, with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son both unavailable.

Kane is set to be out until March with injury, while Son is away on international duty at the Asian Cup.

There are fears that Tottenham’s season could derailed due to their lack of striking options now, but the arrival of Werner would immediately allay any concerns.

The German international is one of the most devastating strikers in the Bundesliga, and his arrival at Tottenham would immediately make Pochettino’s side much more of a threat.

Even when Kane and Son are back, Werner could still play an important role for Spurs, as he possesses so much quality.

And with Tottenham knowing all about Werner’s ability, now would be the perfect time to step up their attempts to sign the Leipzig man.
