Tottenham Hotspur should consider making a move for Nottingham Forest’s Ben Brereton, after his performance against Arsenal.
Brereton scored from the spot as Forest upset Arsenal in the FA Cup yesterday, and the youngster’s display was highly impressive.
Brereton’s ability to run off the last line of Arsenal’s defence caught the eye, as Gary Brazil’s side picked up a highly impressive victory.
Brereton also showed great character, to step up and dispatch a pressure penalty, as he helped ensure Forest reached the fourth round.
The 18-year-old’s performance should have convinced Spurs, that he has a future at the top level.
And Tottenham could be the perfect club for Brereton to develop at, if he does make the leap to the top level.
Harry Kane would remain Spurs’ first choice striker, but Brereton could provide useful back up for the England international in the short term.
Spurs have a great track record of developing young, English talent, and adding Brereton to their ranks would be a smart move for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
