Atletico Madrid could be willing to sell Luciano Vietto this summer. Tottenham Hotspur should consider making a move for the Argentine forward.
Luciano Vietto
Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen to let go of Luciano Vietto this summer.
Vietto has been playing for Sevilla on loan from Atletico, but the Andalusian club are not willing to exercise the option of signing him permanently at the end of the season.
Atletico are willing to sell him and want to recover a significant portion of the investment on the player they signed for nearly £17 million (€20 million), according to AtleticoMadrid.com, in June 2015.
La Liga club Valencia are reportedly (Superdeprote.es) planning to sign him. Should Tottenham consider making a move as well?
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Vietto is a highly talented forward who somehow has not been able to perform at a top level in the last couple of seasons.
In 2014/15, he enjoyed a phenomenal campaign for Villarreal, where he scored 20 goals in all competitions.
He couldn’t make a strong impression at Atletico, and this season has not been great for him either. He has made 27 appearances for Sevilla this season, and has scored 10 goals.
Vietto is a player of immense potential but he is probably lacking in confidence at the moment. In terms of talent, he would certainly be an upgrade over Vincent Janssen, and could be a very good back-up striker for Harry Kane.
Probably, he needs a change of scenario, and a manager who can trust on his ability. It would be a good move if Pochettino can convince his fellow compatriot to move to north London.
