Tottenham Hotspur could potentially refresh their squad this summer after securing a top-four finish last season and reaching the Champions League final.

The Sun have claimed that Tottenham are ready to let left-back Danny Rose leave the club this summer, with Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon mooted as a potential replacement.

Added with that, Italian media outlet Il Bianconero, claim that right-back Kieran Trippier, who earns £65k-a-week at the club [Spotrac], wants to join Juventus this summer, with the Serie A club serious on signing the Englishmen.

There’s no doubt that some of Spurs’ current stars need to part way with the club simply to refresh the team, but also to decrease the wage bill and provide Mauricio Pochettino with more money to spend in the transfer market.

But the North London club should sell Rose this summer and keep hold of Trippier because there has been a slight overreaction to his poor performances this term.

Added with that, at left-back, Ben Davies’s performances have meant that Rose hasn’t been too much of a miss in that area when he hasn’t played and the club wouldn’t need to jump into the transfer market to sign a first choice left-back because they already have one.

But in regards to Trippier’s position, Spurs would need a player that could come in a challenge for a first-team place because Serge Aurier isn’t exactly knocking the door down and Kyle Walker-Peters is still developing.

Whilst Trippier’s season did gradually get worse, he deserves an opportunity to redeem himself because, for the most part, he has done more good than bad for Tottenham.

Simply put, Tottenham and Pochettino will find it harder to find a replacement for Trippier’s position than Rose’s, and rather make wholesale changes, they should at least keep hold of one of those players for next season.
