Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side could have one of the best right-backs in the world.

Alderweireld has a release clause in his contract which means he is available for just £25 million at the end of the season, which puts Spurs in an awkward position.
The Belgian is clearly worth more than £25 million, and Tottenham won’t want to sell for less than market value, but they may be left with no choice in the summer.
That means that if PSG do offer Meunier out, it may be an offer that Spurs simply have to consider.
Tottenham have had issues at right-back this season, with Kieran Trippier in poor form.
Meunier would surely be an upgrade, particularly defensively, and he would strengthen Tottenham’s starting XI.

Losing Alderweireld would unquestionably be a blow for Spurs, but Mauricio Pochettino has good cover at centre-back.
Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth are two of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, Jan Vertonghen is outstanding, and Eric Dier can also play there comfortably.
And if Tottenham were to exchange an ageing Alderweireld for Meunier, who is in his prime and would solve an issue for them, then they may just come out as the winning side in the transfer.
