Tottenham Hotspur selling both Mousa Dembele and Toby Alderweireld would be an error

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be considering offers for the key pair.

According to the Daily Mirror, Mousa Dembele could be put up for sale by Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, and selling him in the same transfer window as Toby Alderweireld would be an awful decision.

Both Alderweireld’s and Dembele’s contracts expire at the end of next season, which has led to Spurs contemplating whether to cash in on the pair.

Spurs are now said to be willing to listen to offers for the duo, but letting them both go would be a huge error.

Replacing one of Alderweireld and Dembele will be a hard task for Tottenham, but to find cover for them both in the same transfer window would be practically impossible.

Alderweireld and Dembele are two of the finest players in their respective positions in the Premier League, and without paying huge fees, scouting players of similar quality would be a huge challenge.

If Tottenham believe they could cope with the loss of two of their finest players, without their form suffering, then they are taking a massive risk.

And, given that Spurs are just starting to establish themselves as the top club in London, they really need to avoid losing two of their key players in the same transfer window to prove their ambition.
