Tottenham have been linked with Ruslan Malinovskyi but Inter Milan have now kickstarted talks to try and sign the Atalanta playmaker.

You can be sure that Antonio Conte will want a number of signings in 2023.

Tottenham aren’t quite at the level Conte would ideally want and that means new signings are required.

Conte probably wants to bolster a number of areas and Tottenham may well need to find a creative midfielder.

Tottenham have been linked with Ruslan Malinovskyi

Tottenham have battlers in midfield but do lack a bit of guile in central areas and arguably throughout the team when Dejan Kulusevski is missing.

Many thought that Tottenham would go for Christian Eriksen over the summer but that never happened.

Another player linked over the summer was Atalanta star Ruslan Malinovskyi.

Tutto Atalanta reported in August that Tottenham were working on a deal to sign Malinovskyi.

It was suggested that Tottenham wanted a loan-to-buy deal but Atalanta were aiming for straight cash during talks.

The transfer window ended without Malinovskyi joining Tottenham even with Corriere Bergamo reporting that he wanted the move to Spurs.

Tutto Atalanta claimed in October that Malinovskyi is unhappy at Atalanta and wants to leave in January, which the Serie A club will accept.

So does that mean Malinovskyi will finally end up at Tottenham?

That looks unlikely because Rudy Galetti reports that it’s Inter Milan – Antonio Conte’s former club – who have started talks to sign Malinovskyi.

The Ukrainian may well fancy staying in Italy and a move to the San Siro now looks to be unlikely with Inter making their move.

Simone Inzaghi has been under pressure this season and may feel that Malinovskyi can bring some creativity and goalscoring threat from an attacking midfield area.

Tottenham need to find more creativity from somewhere and if it isn’t going to Malinovskyi, it needs to be somebody else.
