Tottenham Hotspur have secured two signings, raiding Juventus to sign midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur and winger Dejan Kulusevski.
Fabio Paratici had endured a difficult January window, especially having missed out on both Adama Traore and Luis Diaz.
When non-league winger Ollie Tanner rejected a move to Tottenham too, Spurs fans will have been fearing no signings at all in January.
Tottenham did get two deals over the line though, with Bentancur and Kulusevski arriving from Juventus.
Paratici was Juve’s sporting director when they signed both Bentancur and Kulusevski, so this is a real reunion at Tottenham.
Uruguayan ace Bentancur has signed until 2026, with Tottenham striking a €25million (£21million) permanent deal.
Winger Kulusevski is arriving on an 18-month loan for €10million (£8.35million) with a permanent option set up at €35million (£29million).
The Swede has struggled to thrive under Massimiliano Allegri this season but now gives Tottenham a creative option in from the right flank.
Kulusevski was one of Italian football’s top talents with Parma, excelling on loan there from Atalanta in the 2019-20 season.
Tottenham will now hope to get him back on track, and James Horncastle rates both players highly.

If anybody’s opinion on Italian football should be listened to, it’s Horncastle, one of the most respected analysts when it comes to Serie A.
Horncastle has taken to Twitter to comment on both signings, suggesting that Bentancur was the best ball-winner at Juve.
Some believe that Bentancur isn’t really an upgrade on current Tottenham players, but Horncastle feels that is ‘rubbish’.
Horncastle added that Kulusevski is a ‘dynamic’ carrier of the ball and there are no fears about his pace, believing he will make an impact in the Premier League.
If Bentancur and Kulusevski live up to Horncastle’s praise, Tottenham will be delighted with their deadline day business.
