Tottenham Hotspur made the right decision by not going after Joel Asoro of Sunderland.

According to The Sun, Spurs were in the race for Asoro of Sunderland, but decided not to push for a deal.

Tottenham had reportedly agreed a fee for the youngster worth £2.5 million, but Asoro’s wage demands but them off, and the striker has now moved to Swansea City.

And Spurs have made the right decision by not pushing too hard for Asoro, as he may not be ready to make the step up just yet.

Asoro showed flashes of quality for Sunderland last term, but he was still very raw.

Although he does have a great deal of potential, Tottenham already have some excellent prospects in their youth system.

Marcus Edwards, Reo Griffiths and Kaziah Sterling are all fighting to break into Tottenham’s team currently.

And signing Asoro right now may not have been the right move for either Tottenham or the striker, as he didn’t look likely to impact on their first-team any time in the near future.
