Tottenham Hotspur have deemed Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha too expensive at £75 million.

Tottenham Hotspur fans may be frustrated if they fail to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace this summer, but Daniel Levy’s judgement is correct.

The Daily Star have reported that Tottenham deem Zaha to be too much money at £75 million.

Palace reportedly want a massive fee for the winger, and Tottenham are, therefore, set to walk away from any possible transfer.

With Spurs failing to make a signing for well over a year, there is a desperation for new arrivals to come to White Hart Lane this summer.

But Levy would be making the right call by not paying over the odds for Zaha.

The trickster would almost definitely improve Tottenham’s attack, but at £75 million he would be a hugely risky investment.

That sort of price-tag would put Zaha among the very elite attackers in world football.

However, at the age of 26, Zaha has never truly impressed anywhere but Palace.

The Ivory Coast is unquestionably a supreme talent, but he would be making a big step up to join Tottenham, and for that money he would be expected to make a huge impact.

Zaha has nine goals and eight assists this season for Palace, and while those numbers are very credible, they would have to increase even further if Tottenham were to feel that they had got their money’s worth.

And at £75 million, Spurs may well have better value for money options available to them this summer.
