Valencia defender Ezequiel Garay could finally move to the Premier League this summer with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly keen.

Ezequiel Garay has been linked with a move to the Premier League for as long as memory permits. So far, however, the Argentine international has never played for an English club, though that may change at last this summer.
Because The Mirror (live blog, 7.36 am) is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to watch Garay in action as Valencia opened their new La Liga season with a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas on Friday night.
The 30-year-old only arrived at the Mestalla last summer but, with both Jeison Murillo and former Arsenal defender Gabriel arriving, it appears that Valencia will cash in on one of their most high profile names.
And Spurs, who look set to sell Kevin Wimmer (below) with The Mail reporting that a £15 million move to West Brom is close, need back up for Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld at the heart of their defence.

At the age of 30, Garay is hardly the typical Tottenham signing, with chairman Daniel Levy and manager Mauricio Pochettino preferring to work with youthful potential.
However, the former Real Madrid defender could add some much-needed European experience as Spurs desperately hope to avoid repeating last year’s Champions League disaster.

Garay has been heavily linked with Serie A champions Juventus in recent weeks with Max Allegri’s side needing to replace Leonardo Bonucci.
Therefore, if Arsenal are receptive to offers, Spurs could benefit with an easier run at their target.
