Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Tottenham are refusing to meet Alderweireld’s demands for a new contract worth £150,000 per week.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona are claimed to be interested in signing the Belgium international defender, who has been on the books of Spurs since the summer of 2015 when he joined from Atletico Madrid for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £11.4m.

Bad decision?
Alderweireld is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and selling the 29-year-old in the summer transfer window would not exactly be a great idea.

The former Ajax star has had injury issues so far this season, and although Spurs have done well without, they have missed him in big matches.
However, if a club are willing to pay £55m for Alderweireld, then Spurs should accept it, as Davinson Sanchez is progressing well.
