Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want VfB Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, but it seems that the Premier League club are set to miss out on the France international defender to German and European giants Bayern Munich, as reported by SWR Sport.
The Mirror reported last weekend that Tottenham are lining up Pavard as a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld, who is set to leave the North London outfit this summer.
Promising talent
Pavard had a successful World Cup with France this summer, as the versatile defender helped his team win the competition in Russia.
The 22-year-old can operate as a central defender, right-back or as a midfielder, and is hugely promising.

Missing out
However, it seems that Tottenham are set to miss out on the Frenchman. According to SWR Sport, the 22-year-old has agreed to join Bayern next summer with Stuttgart being paid his release clause of €35 million (£31.25m).
While it must be disappointing for Spurs to reportedly miss out on Pavard, it is a reminder just how big a pull Bayern are in Germany.
