It has been reported that Tottenham wanted to sign Watkins from Brentford in the summer transfer window, but the English striker – who can also operate as an attacking midfielder – has moved to Premier League rivals Villa instead.
Spurs are now looking into a move for King, although Villa, Fulham and Everton are also keeping tabs on the 28-year-old Norway international striker and want to sign him from Bournemouth, who are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

Described as “a massive player” by then Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe in The Daily Echo in April 2018, King scored six goals and provided four assists in 26 Premier League matches for the Cherries last season, while during the 2018-19 campaign, the 28-year-old scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 35 league games, according to WhoScored.
Tottenham need to sign a striker this summer, as the North London outfit simply cannot rely on just Harry Kane to score the goals throughout the season.
