Tottenham Hotspur have not given up on signing Danny Ings from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer transfer window, according to The London Evening Standard.

It has been reported that Tottenham have been turned down by Southampton after an approach for the former Liverpool striker, but the North London outfit are ‘continuing to monitor the situation over his contract, which has two years to left to run’.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has told The Daily Echo that the England international striker will not leave, while Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho has described the 28-year-old as a “very big threat” and “a player that scores a lot of goals” in Football.London ahead of the Premier League game between the two clubs at St. Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.

Would Danny Ings be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Ings is a very good striker who is back to his best after recovering from the injury problems he had at Liverpool.

According to WhoScored, the Englishman scored 22 goals in the Premier League for the Saints last season, and he scored seven goals in the league in 2018-19.

While it is hard to see Southampton sell Ings this summer given how important he is to the team, there is no doubt that the Englishman would be a brilliant option for Mourinho at Tottenham.
