Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Rani Khedira – years after Fabio Paratici snapped up his brother Sami for Juventus.
90Min reported last week that Tottenham are in the race to land Khedira from Union Berlin.
Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Newcastle United, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers were also mentioned as being keen on Khedira.
All of those clubs were scouting Union as they dumped Ajax out of the Europa League last week.
Khedira is out of contract at the end of the season and could be viewed as a bargain addition for Premier League clubs.
That may make sense for Tottenham, who have lost Rodrigo Bentancur to a long-term injury.
Khedira could be a cheap solution for Tottenham, and Fabio Paratici’s role could be vital here.

Tottenham want Rani Khedira after Fabio Paratici signed his brother
Khedira may not sound all that inspiring for Tottenham fans.
The 29-year-old has turned out for Stuttgart, RB Leipzig, Augsburg and now Union Berlin, spending almost all of his career in the Bundesliga.
A strong and no-frills holding midfielder, Khedira is a hard worker and a strong character given that he is Union vice-captain, but he may not set pulses racing.
There is an interesting link between Tottenham and Khedira though and it comes through director of football Paratici.
Tottenham’s director of football actually signed Khedira’s brother for Juventus back in 2015.
Paratici snapped up Sami Khedira on a free transfer from Real Madrid after five years in Spain.
Paratici personally flew to Germany to meet with Khedira’s agent and wrap up a deal.
The elder Khedira ended up racking up 21 goals and 145 appearances for Juventus, proving to be a bargain from Paratici.
Khedira switched agency during his time in Italy and ended up being represented by NGM Sports, which is run by another Khedira brother, Denny.
Denny’s main client right now is Rani, meaning Paratici has a strong link to the representation already.
You could hardly blame Denny and Rani for looking at the interested clubs and believing this is a big chance at a summer move.
Tottenham certainly offer a step up for Khedira and Paratici may even see similar traits in Rani as he did in Sami.
If Tottenham do want Rani, Paratici may well be able to use that history to get a deal over the line.
