Tottenham Hotspur predicted XI today: Alderweireld returns, Bergwijn back in

Tottenham Hotspur return to action this afternoon as they travel to take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Spurs were disappointing in midweek as they squandered a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 at home with Fulham, and now need a response.

Tottenham have been squandering leads of late, and Jose Mourinho needs to get his side firing again after just one league win in the last six games.

With that in mind, Mourinho may look to make some changes for today’s game, so here’s our predicted lineup for the trip to South Yorkshire.

Unless there’s a late injury problem or pandemic-related issue, Hugo Lloris should start the game in goal for Tottenham.

Toby Alderweireld has a chance to come back into the side at centre back alongside Eric Dier, with Davinson Sanchez to drop out.

We could see a double change at full back, with Matt Doherty and Ben Davies coming in for Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will remain a key man in midfield, with Moussa Sissoko given the nod as his partner rather than Harry Winks.

Tanguy Ndombele can then play as the number 10, with £25m winger Steven Bergwijn coming back into the side on the right flank.

Son Heung-min and Harry Kane would round out the side, meaning Gareth Bale would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Joe Hart, Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier, Sergio Reguilon, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Carlos Vinicius.

Tottenham Hotspur starting XI: Lloris; Doherty, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies; Hojbjerg, Sissoko; Bergwijn, Ndombele, Son; Kane.
