Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has ‘liked’ posts on Twitter urging head coach Jose Mourinho to play him.

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said on talkSPORT that Mourinho needs to make use of Alli in the race for the Premier League top four this season.

Ex-Arsenal star Paul Merson said on Sky Sports that the 24-year-old simply has to play.

The England international midfielder has liked both the posts on Twitter, suggesting that he agrees with Redknapp and Merson’s assertions that he should play more.

According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old has made one start and three substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Tottenham so far this season.

Transfer blow for Dele Alli

Alli is staying at Tottenham despite being linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window.

According to talkSPORT, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino wanted to sign the England international, who himself was keen on a move to the French giants.

However, according to the report, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy blocked three loan bids from PSG.
