Tottenham Hotspur want Perr Schuurs and are ready to battle Liverpool and Manchester United for the Torino star.

That’s according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, who claim that interest in Schuurs is mounting ahead of the summer window.

It’s stated that Leicester City and Inter Milan wanted Schuurs before the January deadline but Torino stood firm.

The Serie A club wanted a hefty €40million (£35million) fee for Schuurs and are now looking to hike that price up to €50million (£44million).

The report claims that Liverpool have ‘moved first’ to sign Schuurs but Tottenham and Manchester United are also looking to sign the defender.

Agent George Gardi told TuttoSport earlier this season that Tottenham and Liverpool both wanted Schuurs before he left Ajax for Torino.

It looks like the Premier League duo are back in for Schuurs again but now face a battle with United and their Dutch boss Erik ten Hag.

Who is Liverpool and Tottenham target Perr Schuurs?

Schuurs emerged in the Fortuna Sittard ranks and became a first-team regular, racking up seven goals in 44 games even as a defender.

Schuurs once joined Liverpool on trial during his time with Fortuna, and The Mirror reported in 2020 that the Reds have maintained their interest in the centre back since that trial.

The 6ft 3in ace joined Ajax in 2018 and whilst he recorded 95 first-team appearances, he never quite lived up to his potential.

Torino pounced to sign Schuurs over the summer and the regular first-team action in Italy has allowed him to develop rapidly.

Schuurs has mostly been playing in the middle of a back three for Torino and that may well be where Tottenham see him playing moving forward.

Now 23, Schuurs is fulfilling that early potential and could secure himself a huge Premier League move this summer having been branded a ‘complete’ defender by boss Ivan Juric.
