Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on Pedro Porro having accelerated their move for the wing back in light of Real Madrid’s interest.
That’s according to Bruno Andrade from Mais Futebol, TVI and CNN Portugal.
Andrade claims that Tottenham were warned that Real Madrid would be trying to sign Porro at the end of the season.
Tottenham feared missing out on Porro and have ramped up their negotiations to sign the Sporting ace before Real get chance.
This does tally up with what Spanish newspaper AS claimed over the weekend.
They suggested that Real Madrid would push for Porro at the end of the season if Sporting didn’t sell him this month.
Real seemingly want a long-term successor to Dani Carvajal and picked out Porro as a potential target.
Yet with Real unwilling to make a move now, Tottenham have been pushing to secure Porro before risking missing out.

After weeks of rumours surrounding Porro heading to Tottenham, it looks like Spurs are finally landing their man.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal for Porro to join Tottenham is now ‘really close’ after repeated talks between the two clubs this week.
Sporting have been sticking to Porro’s €45million (£40million) release clause, which Tottenham have been reluctant to pay in full.
Porro may well be worth that kind of money having racked up 11 assists from right wing back this season, which is the kind of attacking quality Tottenham want and need.
A deal looks like being done before the transfer deadline next week but Spurs may need to be wary of Real’s interest moving forward.
It seems that Real have a real admiration for Porro and they will surely continue to track him during his time at Tottenham – if the move does go ahead as expected.
