Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Pedro Porro may be boosted with Sporting eyeing up Milan van Ewijk as a potential replacement.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Sporting are now weighing up a bid for Heerenveen wing back Van Ewijk.
Tottenham have made Sporting star Porro their top target this month and continue to chase a deal for the Spaniard.
Sporting don’t want to be left without a quality wing back and are now considering a move for Van Ewijk.
The report does though note that Southampton, Wolves, Fulham and PSV Eindhoven are also interested in the Heerenveen star.
Van Ewijk, 22, has bagged three goals in 17 games for Heerenveen this season and is seen as an attacking option to potentially replace Porro.

Tottenham surely closing in on Pedro Porro
Sporting have been adamant all month that Porro isn’t leaving unless this €45million (£40million) release clause is activated.
Tottenham really want Porro but haven’t yet met that price tag, meaning there is work to be done.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Tottenham will hold new talks over a deal for Porro today.
Spurs are offering £32.5million plus add-ons and a player in exchange for Porro, trying to tempt Sporting into a deal.
That Sporting are now considering an offer for a new right wing back suggests that they are at least preparing for life after Porro.
Maybe they think Tottenham will eventually pay the release clause and they want to have a target lined up.
Yet with talks set to take place today just as news emerges of Sporting finding a replacement, Tottenham may well be closing in.
Porro, 23, has bagged three goals and 11 assists for Sporting this season and looks to be the attacking player Antonio Conte wants at right back.
That may lead to Djed Spence leaving the club on loan, though Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty are surely available too.
