Tottenham Hotspur could now end up missing out on Pedro Porro after Sporting allegedly changed the terms on the transfer.

That’s according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, who is one of the top sources in the country.

Ornstein claims that the deal is dead in the water ahead of the transfer deadline and Porro is described as being ‘distraught’.

Porro was told by Sporting that he would be allowed to go after Saturday’s Taca da Liga final against Porto, hence his upset.

This tallies up with what Record are reporting over in Portugal, as they claim that Porro’s move is now in jeopardy.

Tottenham seemed to have a deal done for Porro over the weekend.

AS reported that Tottenham had reached a verbal agreement worth over Porro’s €45million release clause with a deal believed to be around €50million (£44million).

That deal allowed Tottenham to pay the fee in instalments with Sporting eventually earning more money than if the release clause was paid in full.

However, Record suggest that Sporting have now asked for the release clause again, changing the terms of the deal at the last minute.

90Min reported that Porro was set for a Tottenham medical today but it now looks like Spurs will miss out.

Pedro Porro deal collapse is a disaster for Tottenham

Tottenham have been seeking a quality solution at right wing back.

Matt Doherty isn’t the long-term option, Emerson Royal isn’t a wing back and Died Spence hasn’t yet been trusted by Antonio Conte.

Porro was seen as the perfect option having racked up three goals and 11 assists this season.

The Spaniard is a quality attacking wing back and at just 23, he has the potential to develop into a real star.

Tottenham have been chasing this deal throughout the January window and though they had their man, only to have the rug pulled from underneath them at the last minute.

Maybe there is still time for Tottenham to resurrect the deal but missing out here would be truly painful for Spurs fans as well as Antonio Conte.
