Tottenham Hotspur want Pedro Porro and new talks are expected today with an offer of £32.5million plus add-ons and a player in part-exchange.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Tottenham and Sporting will be in contact once again today as this saga continues.

Romano believes that Tottenham are putting €37million (£32.5million) plus add-ons on the table for Porro, whilst even allowing a player to head to Lisbon in exchange.

It’s unclear just who that player is but Romano claimed just last week that Sporting had rejected a part-exchange offer from Tottenham.

Sporting have been sticking to Porro’s €45million (£40million) release clause in full, meaning that whilst Tottenham aren’t a million miles away, they still have a gap to bridge.

Spanish newspaper AS noted over the weekend that Tottenham are ready to make one final bid for Porro, so Romano’s report fits in with that.

Tottenham may need to be quick; reporter Simon Phillips claimed just last week that Chelsea have made Porro a top target as they chase a new right wing back themselves.

Pedro Porro is what Tottenham need

Porro impressed for Sporting against Tottenham in the Champions League this season and seemingly put himself on their radar.

The former Manchester City talent has proven that he has what Tottenham are seeking.

Three goals and 11 assists this season is an outstanding output for a wing back and his play in the final third is perfect for what Antonio Conte wants.

Tottenham fans would no doubt love to see Tottenham pull this deal off but paying £40million straight up isn’t all that easy.

Tottenham are trying to negotiate with Sporting but there is also the problem of Conte’s current wing back ranks.

Adding Porro would give Tottenham four right wing backs in Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and Djed Spence.

The ideal situation would surely be for Spence to go out on loan and one of Doherty or Emerson to be bought, but that’s a lot of business to do in a week.

Tottenham face a battle to juggle all of this but will hope for some positive developments on Porro by the end of the day.
