Tottenham Hotspur have snapped up Pedro Porro and he has received a message from rumoured Spurs target Joao Palhinha.

Palhinha took to Instagram late on Tuesday night to congratulate Porro on his rather protracted move to Tottenham.

Palhinha stated ‘Bem vindo á Premier League’, which translates to ‘welcome to the Premier League’.

Porro and Palhinha played together at Sporting and even won the league title together back in 2021.

Porro becomes the latest big Sporting exit since the end of last season, follow Fulham star Palhinha and Wolverhampton Wanders ace Matheus Nunes to the Premier League.

Even Pablo Sarabia – who spent last season on loan at Sporting – has now joined Wolves.

That’s a lot of quality leaving the Sporting side and a tough situation for boss Ruben Amorim to deal with this season.

Pedro Porro could yet reunite with Palhinha at Tottenham

Having a former teammate in London will certainly help Porro settle in and we can imagine a few messages have been exchanged with Palhinha already.

What’s interesting is that the pair may yet end up joining forces at Tottenham down the line.

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham have been monitoring Palhinha and could end up launching a move for him in the summer.

The 6ft 3in holding midfielder has been simply outstanding for Fulham this season, serving as a rock in front of Marco Silva’s back line.

Interest from other Premier League was only a matter of time, and Palhinha may receive some rather lofty offers come the end of the season.

One of them may well come from Tottenham and the chance to reunite with Porro in North London may be very appealing.

That’s a few months away; for now, Palhinha will just hope to see his former teammate shine at Tottenham having been through a rather dramatic months.

On again and off again throughout the month, Porro finally has his Tottenham deal done and will want to match Palhinha’s impressive Premier League displays.
