Tottenham Hotspur have agreed terms with Pedro Porro and now have real hope that a deal is going to be agreed after talks today.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Sporting wing back Porro has agreed terms with Tottenham on a deal that will run until 2028.
That would be a five-and-a-half-year deal for Porro at Tottenham, with Spurs clearing one hurdle in their pursuit of the Spaniard.
The biggest hurdle has been Sporting, who have been sticking to Porro’s €45million (£40million) release clause in any deal.
Yet Romano now suggests that there is now ‘growing optimism’ over a deal today.
Romano notes that a meeting was held over the deal today and Sporting are looking to the market to find a replacement for Porro.
Romano adds that the feeling on all sides is that the deal could be done ‘soon’ after progress was made today.

The news of Porro’s move to Tottenham edging closer comes just as rumours of Djed Spence leaving ramp up.
Football London report that Spence is set to be sent out on loan with Leicester City, Brentford, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Bayer Leverkusen all keen.
It surely can’t be a coincidence that Spence leaving on loan is now gathering pace just as Tottenham make progress over Porro.
Spence hasn’t even started a game for Tottenham since his summer move from Middlesbrough but he still provides depth on the flanks for Tottenham.
Letting him go out on loan seems to go hand in hand with a new wing back arriving and Porro could be that man.
The former Manchester City talent has bagged three goals and 11 assists for Sporting this season, showing the attacking quality Tottenham are seeking.
Tottenham seem closer than ever to signing Porro – and that will allow Spence to go and gain valuable experience elsewhere.
