Harry Kane and Gareth Bale have led the tributes to their former midfielder.
Yesterday’s footballing action was marred by the severe injury suffered by Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason. The Tigers star suffered a fractured skull in a collision with Chelsea defender Gary Cahill and underwent surgery yesterday evening to correct the problem.
Immediately, there was an outpouring of support for the midfield maestro, including from former Tottenham Hotspur team-mates.

Mason spent 17 years as a Spurs player after joining the club as an eight-year-old before moving on this summer to join Hull.
With that in mind plenty of players with a Spurs affiliation wanted to wish him well after his horror injury.
Tottenham Hotspur, as well as several other clubs, sent a message of support to the player on Twitter:
Harry Kane, who came through the youth system below Mason, sent this tweet to the Hull star:
But it wasn’t just the current Spurs crop that did so. Gareth Bale played with Mason at White Hart Lane before making his massive transfer to Real Madrid in 2013.
He sent this throwback picture to Mason as he wished him well in his recovery:
