Tottenham Hotspur-owned Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Dele Alli has won the Football League Young Player of the Year award.

Tottenham Hotspur-owned midfielder Dele Alli has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to winning the Football League Young Player of the Year award on Sunday.

The 19-year-old was given the honours at a gala ceremony at The Brewery, London for his performances for League One outfit Milton Keynes Dons this season.

The youngster is enjoying a superb campaign for MK Dons and has inspired the team to the brink of automatic promotion to the Championship.

Alli has scored 15 goals for the Dons so far this campaign and earned a move to Premier League outfit Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The teenager, who was loaned back to MK Dons by Spurs for the rest of the season, was delighted to have been adjudged the Football League Young Player of the Year award and posted the following messages on Twitter thereafter.

Alli beat competition from Chelsea-owned Middlesbrough forward Patrick Bamford and Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond to win the prestigious award.

The talented youngster, who is a key member of the MK Dons midfield, also finished as a runner-up for the League One Player of the Year gong.
