Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Club Brugge for the signing of Antonio Nusa, sources have confirmed to HITC Football.

Antonio Nusa, the Scandinavian winger was understood to be a target for Chelsea last summer but it is Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur who have opened talks with Club Brugge.

There had been rumours of this occurring from Belgian outlets last night and now HITC can confirm that the two clubs are in talks over the winger.

Nusa can predominantly play on the left wing and he would fit in nicely with the current Tottenham front three and a move could well be a smart move from the north London club.

Chelsea’s previous interest

Chelsea have maintained an interest in Nusa whilst Arsenal and Liverpool have also watched him in recent months along with team from across Europe.

However, Spurs have now opened talks over a potential £25m deal. It is understood Tottenham see the 18-year-old as a huge talent and one for the future.

The deal been suggested would see Nusa finish the season with Brugge and then head to Spurs in the summer.

Spurs have had a torrid time this season with injuries and Nusa would be a superb option in the front three positions next season if the London side struggle next campaign with lay-offs.

Spurs’ youth drive

Tottenham are embracing a new commitment to landing some of the best talent in Europe, this was shown in their deal to sign Croatian prospect Luka Vuskovic, who will not arrive until 2025.

Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sara are examples of this type of deal.

Udogie joined from Udinese and returned to the Italian side on loan and a similar situation occurred with Sarr. Both have gone on to be vital in the Tottenham first team.
