According to Bleacher Report, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Thiago Silva in the summer transfer window.

The report has also claimed of interest in the Paris Saint-Germain central defender from Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals Arsenal.

It has been reported that Silva will leave PSG at the end of the season, and that the Brazilian’s representatives ‘have been relatively surprised at just how much interest there has already been from Premier League clubs’.

PSG director of football Leonardo has told Journal de Dimanche, as translated by Goal.com, that Silva will leave the French club at the end of the month.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Silva is 35 years of age now and is not at his prime, but the Brazilian still has one or two years left in him at the highest level.

The Brazilian will become a free agent, which means that he will be a relatively low-cost signing for the North London outfit.

Jan Vertonghen is out of contract at Spurs at the end of the month, and Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho will need a replacement.

Silva – described as “a super player” by former Arsenal and PSG manager Unai Emery in France Football in February 2020 – is a serial winner with PSG, and he will bring with him that winning mentality and raise the other players in the dressing room.
