Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are now reportedly trying to get a deal done for FC Porto winger Pepe.

According to Rudy Galetti, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Pepe from FC Porto in the summer transfer window.

The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter that Tottenham are “pushing hard” to complete a deal for Pepe before the window closes on Friday night.

Porto will not sell the winger for anything less than his release clause of €75 million (£64.39 million).

Pepe has made three appearances in the Portuguese league this season.

Last season, the 26-year-old Brazilian made 28 starts and six substitute appearances in the league for Porto.

The winger scored four goals and gave seven assists in those matches.

Pepe also played eight times in the UEFA Champions League for Porto last season.

Tottenham Hotspur unlikely to pay £60m+ for FC Porto winger Pepe

We do not think that Tottenham Hotspur are going to pay over £60 million for FC Porto winger Pepe.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is surely not going to spend that kind of money on a 26-year-old who has no experience of playing in the UEFA Champions League.

Levy is likely to consider it as a risk.

Moreover, Tottenham are trying to sign Wales international forward Brennan Johnson from Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Johnson would cost £50 million and is 22.

Tottenham will probably feel that Johnson is better value for money than Brazilian star Pepe.
