Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have decided not to sign Gift Orban from Gent on the final day of the summer transfer window, according to a report.
AllNigeriaSoccer has reported that Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to sign Gift Orban from Gent.
Tottenham Hotspur make transfer call on Gift Orban
However, now that Tottenham are close to bringing in Wales international forward Brennan Johnson from Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest, they have decided not to pursue a potential deal for Orban, described as “an explosive, creative killer” by Andre Stromnes, a sports journalist at Budstikka.
Spurs are reportedly on the verge of bringing Johnson to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a £45 million deal.
AllNigeriaSoccer has reported that Tottenham had “opened a line of communication with the player’s camp”, but the North London club did not make a formal bid for Orban in the end.

And Spurs “will no longer be pursuing a deal for Orban”, according to the report, which has added that Gent value the 21-year-old Nigerian striker at €30 million (£25.68 million).
We are not surprised that Tottenham are not planning to sign Orban now.
A transfer fee of €30 million (£25.68 million) for a 21-year-old striker playing in the Belgian top flight is a lot of money.
Spurs would be better off spending a bit more money and signing someone more experienced, especially at the top level.
Perhaps Tottenham could continue to monitor the striker and reignite their interest next summer.
