Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven with a £30million now deal now likely to go through.
Micky van de Ven is nearing a move to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur now confident of striking a deal.
The Mirror’s John Cross has reported on Twitter that Tottenham are set to secure Van de Ven in a £30million move.
90Min add that Tottenham are now confident of signing Van de Ven with a deal thought to be very close.
It’s stated that Liverpool do fancy signing Van de Ven but he is now expected to join Tottnham imminently.
Personal terms are pretty much in place and that report adds that the price will indeed be £30million.
Tottenham have been desperate to add a new defender this summer with Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga potentially moving on.
A left-footed option was imperative with Clement Lenglet heading back to Barcelona too, so Van de Ven appears to be Tottenham’s man.

Micky van de Ven looks like a good fit for Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham
This is a move with a certain level of risk.
Van de Ven is still only 22 and he isn’t a fully polished defender just yet.
There may be some growing pains in the Premier League and Van de Ven can be a little over-aggressive at times.
The potential is huge though and Van de Ven could come a star at Tottenham.
Van de Ven is an enormous presence at 6ft 4in tall, with his frame and physical style proving difficult for many Bundesliga attackers.

One of the key points with Van de Ven is his pace – or ‘extreme speed’ if you listen to Wolfsburg managing director Marcel Schafer.
The Dutchman has incredible long speed and was clocked as the joint-ninth fastest player in the Bundesliga last season.
Ange Postecoglou likes to play a high line and having recovery speed will be vital, so Van de Ven ticks that box.
Van de Ven is also a natural left-footer, providing balance in build-up play as Tottenham look to play out from the back a little more under Postecoglou.
Van de Ven isn’t the finished product and Spurs will know that.
The raw attributes are there though and if he builds on a superb Bundesliga campaign, £30million may look like a snip down the line.
