Nottingham Forest want Sergio Reguilon and are exploring a move to bring the Tottenham Hotspur ace to the City Ground this summer.
Forest have been one of the big stories of the summer transfer window having racked up signing after signing – 16 to be exact!
Steve Cooper has almost rebuilt his entire squad after winning promotion to the Premier League and Forest may not be done just yet.
A pre-season injury to Omar Richards means Forest are in the market for another left wing back and there have been links to the likes of Pervis Estupinan and Alex Moreno.
Harry Toffolo – another summer signing – has been playing there so far this season but a loan move as competition until Richards can return makes some sense.
Nottingham Forest want Sergio Reguilon
There is now a new name being linked with that role as Forest are allegedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur left back Sergio Reguilon.
The Daily Mail report that Forest are exploring a deal to sign Reguilon, with the idea of a loan move being floated.
Reguilon is surplus to requirements at Tottenham and also has interest from both Villarreal and Lazio.
Forest are now hoping to swoop in and win the race though, with Reguilon clearly needing to leave Tottenham.
Antonio Conte just doesn’t seem to fancy Reguilon and actually left him out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to South Korea.
Reguilon joined Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele in being exiled from the Tottenham squad, and the latter two have now moved out on loan.
Forest will be looking for a similar deal for Reguilon, who will need to get back on track quickly if he is to have any chance of playing at the World Cup for Spain.
A £27million signing from Real Madrid in 2020, Reguilon was supposed to be a star for Tottenham having been branded ‘unstoppable’ going forward by ex-Spain coach Robert Moreno.
It just hasn’t happened though with Reguilon’s defending leaving a lot to be desired and his attacking play being a little less consistent than expected.
A loan with option to buy is the most likely way for Reguilon to leave Tottenham, and Forest now present a potential escape route for the Spaniard.
