Kyle Walker winning medals at Manchester City would justify his decision to quit Tottenham
His many detractors believe Kyle Walker quit Tottenham Hotspur for the money.
A giant increase in his wages was certainly a factor – but the world’s most expensive right-back argues it was because of the medals.
Quoted by SkySports, Walker explained he felt he wanted to win trophies at Manchester City – something he has not done at Tottenham since joining the club.

Walker said: “With the size of the club, we need to go on and pick up silverware, get trophies left, right and centre, and hopefully that can add to my CV because I haven’t won that many things so far in my career.
“Hopefully we win titles, that’s what I’ve come here for; the most important thing is actually winning a title.”
If there is one team Tottenham should want to fail this season – apart from rivals Arsenal – then it is Manchester City.
If City go on to win the Premier League, or even multiple trophies, it will instantly justify Walker’s decision to move on.
But it could have deeper consequences.

Walker’s now former Tottenham teammates will not be able to ignore it.
They will begin questioning whether they too should consider their options. Jealous and self-questioning could creep in.
Danny Rose and Eric Dier are just two players linked with moves away this summer.
Walker’s success could herald a further trickle of departures from Tottenham. If they can win the league themselves and put City in their place, there will be no need.
But if Tottenham can’t get closer to the title themselves, they will have to hope it is not City who beat them to it.
