Tottenham Hotspur simply can’t give Manchester United a free shot at signing Celtic’s Kieran Tierney.

According to The Record, Manchester United will lodge a £20 million bid for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney this summer.
Jose Mourinho is said to be a big fan of the young Scottish defender, but Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino must also throw his hat in the ring.
ESPN reported in November that Tottenham were interested in the 20-year-old and that should still be the case. Giving the Red Devils a free run at a player as talented as Tierney would be neglible and Tottenham fans should be angry if they aren’t in the running for him, especially given that they could do with a left-back.
There are no guarantees that Danny Rose will be a Spurs player by August, but Tierney should be seriously considered irrespective of whether Rose stays in North London.

At 20, the Celtic man is already one of Europe’s most exciting left-backs and one who could potentially leapfrog Ben Davies in the pecking order under Pochettino and provide much better competition for Rose, if he stays.
Would he join Tottenham over United if the choice was there? Considering the work that Pochettino has done with young players in recent years, there is every chance that he would love to work under the Argentine manager, but if Pochettino doesn’t rival Mourinho then we’ll never know.
