Tottenham Hotspur sold midfielder Etienne Capoue to Watford three years ago now.

Tottenham Hotspur may now have reason to regret letting Etienne Capoue leave back in 2015.
Spurs sold Capoue to Watford in 2015 for just over £6 million (the Guardian), and that decision is starting to look like a mistake now.
The French midfielder has been in wonderful form for Watford this season, and with Spurs looking to strengthen in that area, Capoue could actually have made a good option for them now.
The powerful enforcer has shown great defensive capabilities with Watford this term, and he has also proven that he can get forward with aplomb.

Capoue rarely showed the quality he has recently at Watford when in a Spurs shirt.
However, with Mousa Dembele’s and Victor Wanyama’s futures uncertain, Capoue could have proven to be a good option for Tottenham to have around, if Pochettino has stuck by him.
And there may well be some regret that Spurs did let him go into 2015 now, as he has gone on to prove them wrong.
