Tottenham Hotspur decided against signing Jadon Sancho, despite the youngster reportedly wanting the move.

England's Jadon Sancho runs with the ball during the group stage football match between England and Chile in the FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 8, 2017.

According to ESPN, Jadon Sancho wanted to join Tottenham Hotspur last summer, and there must be big regret that deal did not get over the line now.

Sancho is said to have wanted a move to Spurs, but the London club decided against signing him from Manchester City.

And, given his phenomenal impact at Borussia Dortmund, that can only be considered an error.

Sancho opted to move to Germany, when Tottenham were not forthcoming with a contract offer, and his reputation is growing by the game.

The 18-year-old has made 12 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund this season, scoring once and claiming four assists.

Sancho’s form led to calls for him to be included in England’s World Cup squad, but he was not picked by Gareth Southgate in the end.

Spurs must be looking on at the youngster’s progress with regret though, as he could have been a wonderful addition to their squad.

Tottenham are currently a home to some of England’ most exciting, young talent.

And Sancho would have added to their collection of brilliant prospects for the coming years, if they had pushed through with trying to sign the youngster last year.
