A round up of news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.
Tim Sherwood has confirmed Christian Eriksen is back in contention to feature in the club’s Europa League game against Benfica.
The Dane carried an injury through the international break and Sherwood has praised his efforts in recent games where he has featured.
“Christian has contributed well in his last few matches, both goals and assists and it’s great to have him back in contention,” he told the club’s website.
In transfer news, the Daily Mail has reported Spurs are in the market for Southampton defender Luke Shaw and Manchester City man James Milner.
The Milner reports have been around since the start of the week but a swoop at the same time for Shaw is highly ambitious.
The Saints left-back is valued at around the £30 million mark according to reports and he’s also being watched by Chelsea and Manchester United.
Former Tottenham Hotspur star Gary Mabbutt says Tim Sherwood will have to get used to speculation over his future.
The Spurs head coach has seen several top profile managers linked with his position throughout the second half of the season.
“If you’re in the realms of being a football manager, speculation about your role happens every single week. Whether your team is winning, losing, there’s always speculation,” Mabbutt told reporters.
