A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham head coach Tim Sherwood has blasted Benfica boss Jorge Jesus following Spurs’ 3-1 defeat to the Portuguese side last night.
The two coaches were involved in a row on the touchline which prompted Sherwood to react negatively after the game.
“I thought his team were very good, got a lot of class. It’s a pity he [Jesus] doesn’t. In the first two minutes he was coming over to the fourth official saying I was stepping in his box,” Sherwood told the BBC.
In transfer news, the Daily Mail has suggested Tottenham will move for West Ham United and Manchester City players in the summer.
Tottenham’s apparent interest in James Milner is well known and they are reportedly looking to add Winston Reid to their squad from London rivals the Hammers.
Sherwood seemingly feels that signing players with Premier League experience could be the way forward.
Another player Spurs are reportedly interested in is Werder Bremen star Aaron Hunt.
Hunt hit the headlines recently when he convinced a referee to overturn a penalty decision after he’d dived inside the penalty area.
Kreiszeitung Syke claims Hunt will end his long term relationship with the Bundesliga side at the end of the season.
