A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.
Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Jay Rodriguez has taken a step back in his recovery from injury.
Rodriguez has been recovering from a knee problem and the setback could change Tottenham’s plans if they were thinking about a January move.
“He has had to take a step back in his recovery and that was a pity,” said the Dutchman.
Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has justified his absence for Tottenham’s League Cup semi-final against Sheffield United.
Bentaleb will be away with Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“It’s a really bad thing to miss the semi-final but it’s my country and I made the choice to play for them and I have to assume it now,” said Bentaleb.
Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has revealed his belief that Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen could become a legend at the club.
Eriksen has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent players so far this season.
“I know the reputation of Hoddle and Gascoigne. I think, Christian can be one of the best players of Spurs,” said the Belgian.
