Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Angers attacker Mohamed-Ali Cho for just €20million (£17million) in the next week.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who claim that Cho has been put forward to Tottenham as a possible signing.
Angers are seemingly feeling that this is the right time to sell Cho, who has enjoyed a fine season over in France.
The 18-year-old may have only scored twice in 19 appearances for Angers, but he has been causing problems for defences.
Possessing great pace and trickery, Cho is primarily a striker but can also play out wide if needed.
That’s the kind of profile Tottenham may be seeking; a versatile attacker who can either compete with Harry Kane or play with him in the final third.
Cho is even earning comparisons to Kylian Mbappe – something that should leave Tottenham fans excited about a possible deal.
At just 18, Cho would be one for the future and Tottenham would need to be patient with him, but the potential is there.
A move to Tottenham over the next week would surely leave Everton feeling a little gutted too.
Everton signed Cho from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2015, but he left the club for a move to Angers in 2020.
Now thriving and looking set for stardom, Everton may be kicking themselves that they couldn’t keep hold of the attacker.
Cho is also in a fascinating situation on the international stage. Born in France but raised in England from one week old, Cho was born to parents of Ivorian and Moroccan descent.
That means Cho can play for all four countries and has already played for England Under-16’s and France Under-21’s.
With Fabio Paratici securing one of Ligue 1’s top young talents in Pape Matar Sarr, Tottenham now have a golden chance to strike again by signing Cho.
