Tottenham miss out on Argentine talent
Sebastian Driussi
Tottenham Hotspur have missed out on the signature of Argentine striker Sebastian Driussi.
Argentine outlet La Nacion report Driussi has agreed to move to Roberto Mancini’s Zenit St Petersburg for a fee of 15 million Euros.
Telefoot reported just last week that Tottenham were weighing up making a move.
The Independent had reported in January that Spurs were keen to sign the young River Plate striker.
Sebastian Driussi
The 21-year-old scored 18 goals in 30 matches for the Argentine club this past season.
Mauricio Pochettino was reported to be a big fan of the young talent, who has netted in the Copa Libertadores.
He would have been a bright prospect to bring to Tottenham but starts would have been tough to come by with Harry Kane the clear first choice.
He will hope to have better luck than former River Plate wonderkid Fernando Cavenaghi whose career never hit the heights expected after moving to Russia.
