Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has told The Sun that his relationship with head coach Jose Mourinho has changed.
The France international midfielder has said that difficult moments between him and Mourinho are now in the past.
The 23-year-old has added that he and the Portuguese boss are on good terms now and has outlined what he is doing to make himself better.
According to The Sun, the future of Ndombele ‘looked bleak’ at the end of last season after a difficult debut campaign in the Premier League.
Ndombele told The Sun: “I’ve got a good relationship with the coach. And the more difficult moments last season we’ve left behind us. We’re now both trying our hardest to help the team. I’m working a bit differently now.
“I find myself working harder in training and in the matches. But above all I think I’ve just settled in better. It’s true that the last season was difficult for me — to change championships like that, it isn’t easy.”
Growing in importance
Ndombele is doing well for Tottenham at the moment and is growing in importance for the North London club.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, scoring one goal in the process.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the Frenchman made 12 starts and nine substitute appearances in the league and made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Spurs, according to WhoScored.
Ndombele will play a big role in Tottenham’s quest to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
