Tottenham Hotspur are said to have been long-term admirers of Max Meyer.

Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of signing Max Meyer this summer may have increased even further after Schalke president Clemens Tonnies’s latest comments.
Meyer’s contract with the Bundesliga side is due to expire in the summer, but Schalke wanted last minute talks with the midfielder over staying.
However, the German international cancelled the discussions – meaning he looks set to move elsewhere.
“I had an appointment with Max and his advisor, which was cancelled by his agent on short notice,” Tonnies said to BILD.

“If someone doesn’t want to talk to me, I cannot change that.”
Tottenham have been long-term admirers of Meyer, and could move for him on a free transfer this summer.
Spurs have had Meyer on their radar for a number of years, according to Bild.

And, with Daniel Levy always in pursuit of bargains, Meyer may now fit into that category.
Tottenham are likely to want new additions, to create further excitement ahead of their move to the new stadium.
And their chances of completing a deal for Meyer appear to be improving, if they remain interested in the 22-year-old international.
