Tottenham Hotspur are keen to bring in Mattias Svanberg – and Walter Sabatini claims he was previously wanted by Carlo Ancelotti at Everton.
Ever since Fabio Paratici and then Antonio Conte came into Tottenham, a number of Serie A players have been linked with moves to North London.
One of the most recent rumours has surrounded Bologna midfielder Svanberg.
iNews reported in December that Tottenham are ready to make Svanberg the first signing of the Antonio Conte era.
That could have changed since Harry Winks impressed Conte, but Svanberg’s versatility to play in various midfield roles makes him appealing regardless.
Svanberg, 22, has notched three goals and two assist in a fine campaign which could lead to a big transfer.
Now, former Bologna technical director Walter Sabatini has spoken to Tuttosport about Svanberg.

Sabatini claims that, whilst he sees Svanberg at Juventus or AC Milan rather than Tottenham, he doesn’t think Bologna will sell this month.
Sabatini added that Carlo Ancelotti wanted Svanberg at Everton, but he could now still head to England with Tottenham.
“I would see him at Juve or Milan precisely, but in January, Bologna will never sell it,” said Sabatini. “In the past I talked about him with Leonardo for PSG and with Ancelotti when he was at Everton,” he added.
